Responding to God's Love: A ministry of reconciliation with God, self, and others
Finding our direction and opening our path to transformation in Christ often involves recognizing barriers in our personality or in our thinking that block our ability to respond to God’s love. These retreats will balance time between exploring these psychological barriers and quiet contemplation as we seek a closer walk with God.
Silence
A gentle listening can attune us to the presence of God. We can go into the silence and meditate on the word of God, ruminate on a Scripture or a question and offer it to God in prayer, and allow ourselves to be touched, led, and healed by God.
"Silence is an answer to many questions and questions many answers." (Ester de Wal)
Silence speaks and it is a "word" and it is the receptivity of listening. Silence is solitude and communion.
St. Benedict reminds us to listen with the ears of our hearts.
" Listen for the still small voice of God."
(1 Kings 19:12)
